Seneca Fall convention was the assembly that launched the suffrage movement for the women in the US. The convention was directed by Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Both of them were feminist leaders. In the convention, the Declaration of Sentiments was read which called the women to struggle to get the voting right. Twelve resolutions were passed in the convention and it was in the ninth resolution that the demand for the right to vote was made. This convention was important as it was the first step toward the long walk of women's suffrage movement. The women in the US got voting rights on August 18, 1920.
