If a person draws five cards from a standard deck (without replacing them), what is the probability that at least one of the cards is a face card? (Round your answer to one decimal place.)

Respuesta :

Well we can choose the 5 cards              in   52 C 5             ways

How many ways can we choose the cards so there is no face card

There are 12 face cards in the pack so,  if we take those out we can choose from 40

So 40 C 5  ways

So number of ways with at least one face card is            52 C 5 - 40 C 5

So required probability = (52 C 5 - 40 C 5) / (52 C 5)
