The change in the method of selecting electors expand in democracy by the following;
- There is a hope for change
- The slaveholders, frontier settlers, farmers have rallied behind the reformed minded Andrew Jackson of which is known to be a hero of the war in the year 1812 and to be one of the presidential candidate in the 1842 election
- The people believed that Andrew Jackson defends the right of slaves and common people
- The people were also disappointed after the 1824 election because of the decision of House representatives where Jackson had lost
