Answer;
identical parts of the two waves
The emission of the light waves in the lasers allows them to overlap properly to create larger waves, which means that identical parts of the two waves overlap.
Explanation;
- Interference is one of the properties of waves that occurs when two waves that are travelling in the same medium interact or meet. Therefore when identical parts of two waves overlaps it results to interference of waves.
- The overlapping of two identical waves may result to a constructive interference or a destructive interference. Constructive interference occurs when the identical waves have similar phase and frequency interacts or meets creating another wave with a larger amplitude.
- Destructive interference occurs when the overlap of two waves results to a decrease in amplitude in the resultant wave.
