Woodrow Wilson won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end World War I and formed the League of Nations on December 10, 1920. However, he was unable to attend the award ceremony because of his weak body after suffering a stroke.
World War I (PDI) is a centralized global war in Europe that began on July 28, 1914 until November 11, 1918. This war is often called the World War or the Great War from the time it occurred until the start of World War II in 1939, and the First World War or World War I after that. This war involves all major world powers and is divided into two opposing alliances, namely the Allies and the Central Powers. The two alliances reorganized and expanded as many countries participated in the war. More than 70 million military troops, including 60 million Europeans, were mobilized in one of the greatest wars in history.
At the end of this war, US President Woodrow Wilson decided that ancient forms of diplomacy namely imperialism and nationalism must be blamed for the outbreak of the conflict. "Liberalism," Wilson said, "is the only thing that can save civilization." In 1918, Wilson called for four basic rights that required "mutual guarantees of political independence" and, most importantly, the conditions for free trade.
