Respuesta :

let's first write the number : five hundredths

[tex] \frac{5}{100} [/tex]=0.05

and a thousandth is 0.001.

so we have to divide 0.05 by 0.001.

but... this seems confusing... fortunately when we divide, we can mupltiplpy BOTH number by the same number and the result stays the same. So let's multiply them by 1000:

0.05*1000=50
0.001*1000=1

and then we can ask: how many 1s are there in a 50? 50!

so 5 is the answer.
