Hypothermia in individuals happens when the usual heat of person loses causing low body temperature. In caring for an athlete with hypothermia, it is best to call an emergency or in another words, notify a local emergency medical service-- this will alert them and transport to where you and the person is located and provide emergency medical care.

The primary method of caring for people with hypothermia is to keep the body warm or to warm the body back to normal temperature. Hypothermia treatment that we can do such as check the body temperature, remove from the cold, cover with a warm blanket, give warm sweet drink.

In severe hypothermia cases, when the body temperature below 31, immediate medical treatment should be done as it can be a life-threatening condition, so it better calls the emergency/ambulance to transport the patient to the hospital.
