A character's motivation determines his/her actions throughout the play. These motivations helps to build and create the conflict. Antagonist is in correct because the antagonist is the person or thing that goes against the protagonist. The antagonist is often the other side of the main conflict of the story. The character's motivations determine why the character gets into conflict with the antagonist or an internal conflict with himself. The exposition is the beginning of the plot line. It introduces the setting, characters and conflict.
