Of the top of my head, there was Korea ... Vietnam... Greece... these were all proxy wars if that's what you meant by "hot"
There were two places where U.S. soldiers fought and died during the Cold War period. Korea and Vietnam.
The Korean war was in the early 1950s and the Vietnamese conflict was from 1960 to 1973. In both conflicts the countries were divided into north and south factions, being one side supported by the U.S. and the other by the Soviet Union.
The Cold War was a conflict in which neither of the major participants involved in a battle against each other. But U.S. troops did engage in conflict with the countries that the Soviet Union gave extensive military aid.
