In a test of the intergenerational solidarity model, researchers found that siblings were likely to exchange more help with each other when their parents had poor relationships with their children.

Intergenerational Solidarity model deals with the relation that the siblings of any family have with each other. It also reflects about the relation of the children with their parents. Whenever any parent fails to understand the thoughts of their children or they either scold them or they just don't listen to them. In such cases the children often interact with their siblings and share their feelings as they are also facing the same condition. They feel relaxed as there is someone to listen to their thoughts and understands them. They talk among themselves and their bonds becomes strong. Even they find a way to interact with their parents.
