Draw lines moving in one direction.

In another circle, create shading using the cross-hatching technique.
Draw lines moving in one direction, then go over them with lines moving in the opposite direction.

In another circle, create shading using the stippling technique.
Create dots with the point of your pencil.
The dots can be close together or further apart. How does this change the shading effect?
In the last circle, create shading using the smudging technique.
Rub the paper with the side of your pencil. Press harder for darker sections and lighter for lighter sections. How does this change the shading effect?
