He lays the short edge of the paper along the short edge of the frame several times and finds the frame is 3 papers wide. How long is it in inches

If the paper is 8 1/2 x 11 inches. Then the short side, 8 1/2 times 3 would be 25.5 inches.

I'm assuming that the paper would just be a normal size sheet of paper, am I correct?

The answer would be 24in long. 
*I'm just guessing that the paper is normal lined sheet of paper, if I'm wrong let me know.
