The volume of the hexagonal prism is;

Inserting the values, the volume is;

[tex]V=8\times5=40ft^3[/tex]

The surface area is given by;

[tex]SA=Base\text{ }perimeter\times height\text{ }+2(Base\text{ }area)[/tex]

Therefore,

[tex]\begin{gathered} SA=6(2)\times5\text{ }+2(8) \\ SA=76ft^2 \end{gathered}[/tex]
