[tex]6x^2+x-2[/tex]

first , set the function equal to zero

[tex]6x^2+x-2=0[/tex]

now we can use this expression to factor

[tex]x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt[]{b^2-4ac}}{2a}[/tex]

where a is 6, b is 1 and c -2

so, replacing

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{-(1)\pm\sqrt[]{1^2-4(6)(-2)}}{2(6)} \\ \\ \frac{-1\pm\sqrt[]{1+48}}{12} \\ \\ \frac{-1\pm\sqrt[]{49}}{12} \\ \\ x=\frac{-1\pm7}{12} \end{gathered}[/tex]

x has two values

[tex]x_1=\frac{-1+7}{12}=\frac{1}{2}[/tex][tex]x_2=\frac{-1-7}{12}=-\frac{2}{3}[/tex]

we have the two roots now we chang the sign and make the factor expression

[tex](x-\frac{1}{2})(x+\frac{2}{3})[/tex]
