I'm thinking

y=ax²

when x=2, y=2
when x=4, y=8

so

2=a2² and
8=a4² or

2=4a and
8=16a
easy
divide first equation by 4 and 2nd by 16 to get

1/2=a

then

$y= \frac{1}{2}x^2$
