Identity theft is known as the crime in which crime is done by  obtaining the personal as well as financial information of another person to use their identity to commit any type of fraud.

Frauds can be done such as making unauthorized transactions or unauthorised  purchases. Identity theft is committed very effectively in many different ways and its victims are only left with damage to their credit, reputation, and finances.

Identity theft generally occurs when someone steals your personal information for example  Social Security number, bank account number, and credit card information.
