For the speeches you will delivering in the class you should have at least 2 to 4 main points. As obviously students who are presenting a speech in the classroom do not have time develop more than four main points.
Although knowing about your audience before delivering the speech is still the most important and fundamental steps; in every speech which you deliver, either to inform, motivate or entertain, you should know the audience's likes dislikes and interests.
Secondly, to determine the precise message that you want to convey to your audience you will need to establish the full scope of your topic and then dividing the full content in 3 major parts including the introduction of the topic, the main body and lastly the conclusion. after you have clearly defined the scope of your topic , it is time to determine your primary, secondary and tertiary points explicitly.
