The feature of the newer operating system that could make performing static acquisition much more difficult is full disk encryption.
Microsoft recently added the full disk encryption feature to its operating system. This encryption happens at the hardware level wherein data is converted on a hard drive in such a form which cannot be understood by anyone until and unless they have the key to undo the conversion.
If you do not have the proper authentication key, even if you transfer hard drive to some other device, the data will remain inaccessible. Still, the best part of this feature is that the end user will not have to give nay special attention to it, after he initially unlocks the computer.
