Maori were the indigenous people of New Zealand. They are unique and were popular for tattooing, weaving, carving, and oratory. They share many similarities ad differences with the Haida culture.

Both the Haida and the Maori cultures worshipped the supernatural power and had a strong sense of duty towards their family and the community. They cared for the earth and nature as it has given them the land, and the food.

The only thing that made them apart was the presence of the fierce warrior of the Maori community. Though it does not mean that Haida warriors were not strong it's just that they are not portrayed as fierce as the Maori.
