Alex drew a circle with right triangle PRQ inscribed in it, as shown below:

The figure shows a circle with points P, Q, and R on it forming an inscribed triangle. Side PQ is a chord through the center, and angle R is a right angle. Arc QR measures 80 degrees.

If the measure of arc QR is 80°, what is the measure of angle PQR?

The measure of angle PQR is 50°

The correct option is (A)

What is an arc?

The arc of a circle is defined as the part or segment of the circumference of a circle.

Given that: Arc QR measure 80 degrees.

Now, using theorem

"The measure of inscribed angle is half of the intercepted arc".

So, angle P= 1/2 of QR

                  = 40°

As, angle R= 90°

Using Angle sum property in Triangle PQ,

    P + Q + R =180

    40° + PQR +90°=180°

         PQR= 50°

Thus, the measure of angle PQR is 50°
