Roots are the important underground part of all vascular plants. The roots of a plant perform a range of services that are essential to the survival of any land plant; they absorb water and nutrients from the soil, help to anchor the plant to the ground and often store large quantities of food. Plant roots secrete or release exudates, volatiles, metabolically active root border cells and additional polymers into the surrounding soil.
Hope this helps! Please let me know if you need more help, or if you think my answer is incorrect. Brainliest would be MUCH appreciated. Have a great day!
