1. Fenugreek seeds (We can use fenugreek seeds as they grow fast. Any other seeds can also be used)

2. Two containers to grow plants

3. Potting soil

4. Newspaper

5. Plastic bag



Method:
1. Take potting soil in two containers. Put thirty seeds in each container. Put only a little amount of soil on top to make the plant come out of the soil faster.

2. Cover one container with newspaper and another one with clear plastic bag.

3. Place both of them at the same sunny place. Water both of them every day.

4. Observe after a week’s time.

Growth would occur in the plant pot covered with clear plastic bag while there would be no growth in the plant pot covered with newspaper.

For a plant to survive, it needs carbondioxide, sunlight and water to carry out the mechanism for production of food, maintenance and growth.

Photosynthesis is the process by which green plant manufacture it's own food using inorganic substances such as energy from sunlight and carbondioxide.

From the experiment performed with the plant pot of Fenugreek seeds where one was placed in a clear plastic bag and the other in a newspaper.

The one in a clear plastic bag will grow because it is being watered and has sunlight penetrating through the clear plastic bag.

While the one covered with newspaper will not grow because the newspaper prevents sunlight from reaching the plant.

Therefore, growth would occur in the plant pot covered with clear plastic bag while there would be no growth in the plant pot covered with newspaper.
