Women’s suffrage

Many suffragettes stirred up trouble by using Wilson's words against him. Why might
this technique be effective toward accomplishing a goal

Respuesta :

Answer:

The Women in Public Service Project, housed at the Wilson Center, honors President Wilson’s commitment to public service by educating and equipping the next generation of women leaders. As the Center celebrates the centennial, the Women in Public Service Project commemorates the advances made for women’s rights under Wilson’s term.

Using Wilson's own speeches against him, the NWP highlighted the government's hypocrisy of supporting democracy abroad while denying its women citizens at home the right to vote. Women from all social classes risked their health and reputations by continuing to protest for the vote.Traditional lobbying and petitioning were a mainstay of NWP members, but these activities were supplemented by other more public actions–including parades, pageants, street speaking, and demonstrations. The party eventually realized that it needed to escalate its pressure and adopt even more aggressive tactics. There were different factions of suffragettes within the movement, with some breakout groups refusing to support more extreme action. Women would chain themselves to railings, set fire to empty buildings and post boxes and set bombs.
