Say you as a citizen believe that the U.S.A should have gun reform and gun safety laws, you as the citizen can come together with others of your shared belief can come together and inform your party senators, representatives, and congressmen/women that you want change; thus these leaders that are elected in the party you support bring these issues before the Congress.

Or say you as a citizen believe that the U.S.A should have strong borders and strict immigration enforcement, again as mentioned in the example above, you’d get together with others of your shared belief to inform your party senators, representatives, and congressmen/women that you want this change; thus these leaders of that are elected in that party you support bring these issues before the Congress.
