Given :
A building casts a shadow 46 feet long.
At the same time, a 36 foot tall flagpole costs a shadow of 9.2 feet long.
To Find :
The height of the building.
Solution :
Since, all readings are taken in same time.
Ratio of height and shadow remains for all objects.
Let, height of building is H.
So,
[tex]\dfrac{H}{46}=\dfrac{36}{9.2}\\\\H = \dfrac{36}{9.2}\times 46\\\\H = 180\ feet[/tex]
Therefore, height of the building is 180 feet.
