So I was talking with this guy and he said AR-15s are better than AK-47s. His first argument was AKs aren't as accurate. Who cares? AKs are full autos, if you are a little left you can just keep going right until you hit. Then he told me I can just buy a semi automatic version. What is the point of a semi auto AK? Just buy an AR at that point. The whole reason why people like AKs is normally because they are full auto. Then his second argument was the AR doesn't have many problems. Rigggghhhhhtttt. An AK you can throw in mud and it will shoot just fine. If you do that to an AR it game over. so who's right, me (the AK guy) or him (the AR guy)?

Yes, it is true that AR-15 rifles ( m16, m4, m4a1, hk416 types) are more favored in military terms than an Ak 47. Mainly this falls into more utility-wise and tactical. Attachments on ar 15 based rifles with eotcs, lasers, and more are easier to use unlike an Ak 47. See this is the problem for a vintage gun like Ak its experts know it's one of the best guns made in history but with time changes so does the rifle. (ex. 7.62 ammo used in Ak 47 ammo changes to 5.45 cartilage (similar to 5.56) on an Ak 74) Although you are right about the sturdiness part Aks are fully metal with the wooden parts

Unlike ar-15 based rifles which are made of aluminum metal( obviously for lightweight purposes.)

As in properly licensed instructor terms of view, they will probably prefer ar 15 based rifles over Aks. Just like I said remembering an invention to an older model will lead to a better-modernized one.
