The crystals of an igneous rock are used to classify its own because the crystals of igneous rock are formed due to different chemical composition as well as size and structure. Igneous rocks are the type of rocks which are formed when magma cools and change into solid state.
They are classified on the basis of grain size, silica content, and silica saturation. The igneous rock is depend on the rate of cooling i.e. slow cooling causes the formation of large crystals whereas fast cooling produces small crystals. The igneous rocks are classified according to their chemical composition.
