Although, the average amount of hours worked among the 5 employees is 40 hours. Use algebra to figure out the value of the undetermined employee’s hours, aka x. By

The expression that allows to calculate the average would be:

M = (A + B + C + D + E )/5

where A, B, C, D and E are the pharmacists....

A and B = work 35

C and D = works 40

E = ??

average = M = 40

M = (A + B + C + D + E )/5

40 = (35 + 35 + 40 + 40 + E)/5

200 = 150 + E

E = 200 - 150

E = 50

So, pharmacists E works 50h/week
