-x + 17 = x - 4 ——— subtract 17 on both sides
-x+17=x-4
-17 -17—— the 17’s cancel out and -4-17= -21
Now you’re left with...
-x=x -21 —-subtract x on both sides..
-x -x —-the x’s cancel out each other
And now it’s...
-2x=-21 —-divide -2 on both sides.. and now you’re left with...
x = 21/2
