a chlorine atom has 17 protons and 18 neutrons. what is its mass number? what is its atomic number?

Respuesta :

Mass = p + n

Atomic number/mass are the same thing if i am wrong i am sorry look it up :)

The mass no. is "35" and the atomic no. is "17".

Given,

Number of Protons,

  • 17

Number of Neutrons,

  • 18

Now,

→ The atomic number of Chlorine will be:

= [tex]Number \ of \ Protons[/tex]

= [tex]17[/tex]

and,

→ The mass number will be:

= [tex]Number \ of \ Protons+Number \ of \ Neutrons[/tex]

= [tex]17+18[/tex]

= [tex]35[/tex]

Thus the above answer is right.
