they been fighting for the land, it's considered a"holy city" by muslims
The Arabs and Jews have been in conflict over Palestine for thousands of years because "Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs both want the same land (Palestine) and a compromise has proven difficult to find."
The conflict between Arabs and Jews is over who gets what land and how it's controlled. The Arabs who had already lived in Palestine claimed that Palestine had been their land for many centuries, as there were mosques that existed on the hill of the temple.
On the other hand, the Jews claimed that Palestine was actually Israel, their promised land, according to the Bible. And the remains of the Jewish temple existed in Palestine even before the Arabs. So, this was the main reason for the conflict between the Arabs and Jews.
What is the Israeli–Palestinian conflict?
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict dates back to the end of the nineteenth century. In 1947, the United Nations adopted Resolution 181, known as the Partition Plan, which sought to divide the British Mandate of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states.
On May 14, 1948, the State of Israel was created, sparking the first Arab-Israeli War. The war ended in 1949 with Israel’s victory, but 750,000 Palestinians were displaced and the territory was divided into 3 parts: the State of Israel, the West Bank (of the Jordan River), and the Gaza Strip.
The conflict over land between Arabs and Jews still continues to the present day on various levels.
