The sugar-sweet company will choose from two companies to transport its sugar to market. The first company charges $6093 to rent trucks plus an additional fee of $200.75 for each ton of sugar. II company charges $7500 to rent trucks plus an additional fee of $100.25 for each ton of sugar

Ok so first you want to construct an equation in which s is the number of tons of sugar to be transported.

Next you want to set up the equation as this: 4500 + 150.25s = 3696 + 200.5s

After you setup the equation, you want to solve for s. You want the numbers with the same look ( I don't know how to explain that sorry lol). It will look like this  4500 - 3696 = 200.5s - 150.25s.

Calculate the numbers on each side of the equation, it should look like this.  804 = 50.25s

Then you divide it, s = 804/50.25 which it should equal 16 tons of sugar! Hope this helps have a good day. c;
