What happened when the Incas paid Pizarro a ransom for their leader?

Pizarro released the leader, then captured their capital city.

Pizarro executed the leader and conquered the Incas.

Pizarro took the ransom and the leader back to Spain.

I want to say that it is the second answer, "Pizarro executed the leader and conquered the Incas". It is possible that I am thinking of the Aztecs, but the second answer seems most plausible from what i learned in class. Apologies if I am wrong.
