Jason was hired to mow a lawn that covers an area of acres 2 3/4. It took him 4 1/8 hours to complete the job. What was his unit rate in hours per acre?

I understand the steps where I am stuck is how did you get 2/3/

Divide the area by the time:

Divide 2 3/4 acres by 4 1/8 hours:

Divide 2.75 acres by 4.125 hours:

2.75 acres
--------------- = 2.667 acres/hour, or 2 2/3 acres / hour.
4.125 hrs
