His New Deal program also helped women.  Many women were given jobs as librarians and young girls were also given more opportunities in the form of education, work and training aids.  Under the New Deal women also were given benefits at work among which was equal pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act.  Many of these opportunities were made possible through the efforts of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.
