1 L is equivalent to 1 dm³
10 dm is equivalent to 1 m
therefore dm = 1/10 m = 0.1 m
then volume is taken as dm³
dm³ = 0.1 m x 0.1 m x 0.1 m
dm³ = 10⁻³ m³
therefore 1 L = 10⁻³ m³
then 2.49 x 10⁴ L = 2.49 x 10⁴ L  x 10⁻³ m³/L
volume - 24.9 m³
