Because of their well-known propulsion by pressing water from the pallial cavity. As well as catching prey. Without their instinct to move fast to catch the organism, they would not move at the speed that they do.

Squids can swim so fast because of their technique. Because of their anatomy, they are able to take in large amounts of water and push it out with so much force that it propels them forward. Humans are not able to take in large amounts of water while underwater, therefore we have to rely solely on our limbs. Another reason is the number of fins they have! While the majority of fish have only two fins, one on each side, squids have 8 fins, specifically called tentacles. That's four times the amount of force! Hope this helps!
