Count Baldassare Castiglione was a 16th Century Italian diplomat who combined the Greek ideal of a man who ought to be "well-rounded" with Renaissance ideals. He notes that the Renaissance man should avoid using antiquated or unfamiliar words. He is expected to use vocabulary from familiar Italian words ''that have some grace in pronunciation", the Rennaisence mans knowledge, rather than his diction, that will be ultimately important.

Answer:

There are several things Cartiglione tells the reader to avoid, for example:

  • Avoid doing the same thing over and over again
  • Avoid appearing foolish
  • Avoid people to see his writing if they are not of the best quality.
  • Avoid the use of complicated language (he prompts the use of  vulgar language)

Explanation:

For Cartiglione a man had to be well-rounded, that meant that the man was supposed to develop every aspect of his  personality.
