Respuesta :

potential difference is energy per coloumb of charge so energy = vq

energy  =  1.5    *    9000    =   13500 J

In moving a charge through potential difference, work done can be calculated as follows:

[tex]W=-q\times V[/tex]

Here, q is charge and V is potential difference.

(a) According to law of conservation of energy, chemical energy of the battery will be equal to work done, thus,

[tex]E=-q\times V[/tex]

Putting the values,

[tex]E=-(9000 C)\times (1.5 V)=-13500 CV[/tex]

Since, 1J=CV

Thus, the amount of chemical energy decreases will be 13500 J.
