About 60% of all body fluid is within cells and intracellular compartments.
The body fluids can be mainly referred to as fluid compartments. There are 3 fluid compartments:
1) ICF : intra-cellular fluid -> all fluids enclosed in the body cells.
2) ECF: Extra-cellular fluid ->all fluids around the body cells.
3) IF: Inter-stitial fluid -> surrounds all cells but not in the blood.
