One year after a major folly where many trees were torn out, I would expect the area to be growing grass and weeds in sunny areas.
Answer:
Flood can have both the effect of devastating and positive effect on an area. During flood, many trees can be torn out in a wooded area but flood also comes with nutrient and silt and replenish the water level in that area.
Therefore after one year of the flood, the local fauna should have stated to grow quickly due to the appropriate amount of nutrients and water in the soil.
In that area, grass and other herb species will grow that covers the open area and there will be greenery in that area. Then the area will look like a grassland after a year later.
