A kickball is a sphere, so to solve this, we are going to use the formula for the volume of a sphere: [tex]V= \frac{1}{6} \pi d^3[/tex]
where
[tex]V[/tex] is the volume of the sphere.
[tex]d[/tex] is the diameter of the sphere.

We know form our problem that the diameter of the kickball is 10 inches; since the kickball is a sphere,  [tex]d=10in[/tex]. Lets replace that value in our formula to find [tex]V[/tex]:
[tex]V= \frac{1}{6} \pi d^3[/tex]
[tex]V= \frac{1}{6} \pi (10in)^3[/tex]
[tex]V=523.6in^3[/tex]

We can conclude that the volume of the kickball is 523.6 cubic inches.
