when the long hand points at a number that's the hour when the short hand points at a number you're counting by 5s. so 1=5, 2=10, 3=15, 4=20, 5=25, 6=30, 7=35, 8=40, 9=45, 10=50, 11=55, and when you reach 12 a new hour starts.

This has always helped me. When looking at the clock the longer hand is doing minutes. For example if the long hand is pointing at the 1 ad the smaller hand( which is hours) can be pointing at 3 it would be 3:15.
On the clock there is 1-12. One is 5 mins. 2=10, 3=15 and you are counting by 5’s on 1-12 if it is in between 5-6 is could be 25 because 5 is 20 and 6 is 30. Also if you are wondering what the red hand in the clock is, it just counts the second too. Hope this helped:))
