Angiotensin-converting –enzymes inhibitor (ACE inhibitor) is a drug commonly used for the treatment of congestive heart failure and hypertension. It can also be used to reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension. ACE inhibitors act by reducing the activity of the renin –angiotensin-aldosterone system which is the primary causal in the development of hypertension in people with diabetes mellitus.
