When the expression 18xy-24x is factorised (it becomes 6x(3y-4) ) just wondering how it becomes that. Thanks

$18xy - 24x = (3 \times 6)xy - (4\times 6)x$

Take out the common factors which is 6x

$18xy - 24x = 6x (3y - 4)$
