Hi there!
One way of comparing fractions is making them into decimals.
The second way is making the denominator equal.
First way
5/4 = 1.25
9/10 = 0.9
1.25 > 0.9
So we know that 5/4 is bigger than 9/10.
Second way
the greatest common multiple of 4 and 10 is 20. So make those two fraction's denominator to 20.
5/4 --> 25/20
9/10 --> 18/20
25/20 > 18/20
So 5/4 is bigger than 9/10.
Hope this helped!

Hi there!
To compare fractions, we can find a common denominator and see whether the numerators are greater or less than each other.
To find a common demoninator, we need to multiply the two denominators together.
4 × 10 = 40
5 × 10 = 50
9 × 4 = 36
50 > 36
Hope this helps!
