System Software acts as a platform on which application software program runs.

The software is a set of instructions that instruct and tells the computer the actions to perform.

Application software

System software regulates the basic functioning of a computer, mostly via the operating system, and regulates peripherals such as Graphics software displays and storage devices.

On the contrary, application software instructs the computer to perform user requests and may comprise any program processing data for a user.

Application software is software that performs specific tasks for an end-user. It can also be included in a computer's operating system.
