I believe the  term is the Medial tibial stress syndrome.  The medial tibial stress syndrome or the Shin splints is an inflammation of the muscles, tendons, and bone tissue around the tibia, Pain typically occurs along the inner border of the tibia, where muscles attach to the bone, it is most common on the inside of the tibia.
