Two Statues were put up in the center of a busy industrial city. One is made from marble and the other is made from granite. Predict what the statues may look like 50 years from now. Explain your reasoning.

Granite is a softer rock and will easily be weathered. I  50 years it will likley be rough, and perhaps smaller parts of it missing.

The marble  is a harder rock and will likely last with a lesser degree of damage for 50 years.

Since marble is tougher than granite I suspect that it would be chipped here and there and maybe one or two parts of it will have fallen off but, for the granite more parts of it will have fallen off and crumbled because it is more easy to chip than marble.
