The redshift shows that distant galaxies are moving away. The further away the galaxy, the bigger the redshift. More distant galaxies are moving away faster. Evidence that the universe is expanding and the start of the universe could have been from a single explosion. The Big Bang theory proposes that the universe began in a small space that was hot and dense and then expanded. A massive explosion expansion sent all matter outwards which caused the universe to expand.
